| Place the scanner on a scratch-free surface, face down. Remove battery cover and battery holder. Remove the four screws that hold the back on. There are no speaker wires that will pull loose. You will be working near the middle of this picture. |

I used shielded cable. The shield is attached to ground at the side of the cover at the top. The other wire was wrapped around TP4 (test point 4) and soldered. |

I placed the cable between the tuning pots and applied hot melt glue to secure it. This adds stability to the cable. |

I connected the cable to a 1/8" phone jack. The cover in the photo is placed next to the scanner face down. |

I did not use a resistor inline with the tap. Mine works fine. Let me know your thoughts on this!! |
